Welcome to the fidelis Project 2006
fidelis is a global fund, administered by the International Union Against Tuberculosis & Lung Disease (The Union), with initial funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The fidelis project arose from discussions in the Stop TB Partnership. Its objective is to support innovative TB control activities for increasing case detection of new smear positive cases, while maintaining high cure rates within the DOTS strategy.
Projects have been funded in 13 different developing countries and projects are currently underway in 31 regions. The projects aim to find and cure new smear positive patients in communities with little or no access to modern TB healthcare. The location of the projects is varied and ranges from urban slums in Kenya to remote rural provinces in China.
